Sunday opening, tea & coffee and new plants on the nursery…

We are back open now on Sundays and the summerhouse is available for tea and coffee.  We have plenty of new plants for sale;  magnolias, alpines, spring bulbs, potato seeds and dahlia tubers are out on the nursery and we have a  sale of garden furniture to the left of the wall entrance.  Our perennial and shrubs sections have been re-stocked and the greenhouse is full of colour...  

Seed Potatoes now available

Our seed potatoes are available now.  We sell them by the kg  (only £1.90 per kg including Belle De Fontenay) so you can select exactly the amount you need and gives you the opportunity to try out new varieties. We sell: 1st Earlies - Arran Pilot, Belle De Fontenay, Epicure, Pentland Javelin, Rocket and Swift. 2nd Earlies - Kestrel. Salad - Charlotte, Int. Kidney, Juliette, Nicola, Pink Fir Apple and Ratte. Main Crop - King Edward and Maris Piper.

We are back open after the break and there's plenty of blossom and scent around the garden and nursery.  Pictured are the fragrant sweet box along the main nursery walkway (which has lovely purple berries), the witch hazel along the wall, the blossom of the Prunus Autumnalis outside the wall entrance and a frosted Mahonia (we have Charity, Winter Sun, Lionel fortesque, Bealii and Apollo in stock).

It's starting to feel festive here at the nursery, and Marion has arranged some festive displays in the greenhouse and outside.  We have a selection of great present ideas, including indoor and outdoor cyclamen starting at £2.50, seasonal pots of bulbs, Amayllis, Azaleas, ornaments and our 'perfect for pollinators' and 'award winning vegetables' tins of seeds.  We also have decorations, wreaths and of course our winter shrubs and camellias...    

Autumn planting and late colour

There is great late colour on the nursery this week and it's the perfect time to plant ready for next year.  We have our Winter Pansies, Polyanthus, Wallflowers and Violas out for sale (starting from £6.75 for a tray of 15, or 45p a plant) and over 50 new varieties of unusual shrubs coming onto the nursery for the weekend. In addition we have a new range of alpines, and more than 250 varieties of bulbs in the greenhouse. We still have SALE stock including perennials, shrubs and roses, and 2 for 1 offers on some pots.
