This vacancy will suit a person who has worked in a supervisory or managerial role and who is a capable leader. They would require a good basic plant knowledge which they might have gained from their own garden, and a keen interest in plants which they would wish to improve.
To allocate and oversee retail tasks
Set up creative and functional plant and product displays
Keep accurate stock records using our EPOS system
Maintain plants to the highest standards
Provide excellent customer service and advice
Take charge in the absence of senior manager or the owners
Good attention to detail.

Part-time seasonal worker
Gardening and working with plants will improve your plant knowledge and understanding and will provide skills which you will find very useful in looking after your own garden. It can even lead to a satisfying career.
2 weekdays (not Mondays), 1 weekend day with occasional additional days, about 23 hours per week spring – September.
The work will involve:
Selling and packing plants
Restocking plants for sale.
Setting up plant displays.
Plant care: watering, feeding, weeding, cutting back etc.
Some work within the plant production area: potting, labelling, plant selection etc.
Ancillary jobs to keep the nursery running.
Skills and aptitude required:
A strong interest in plants.
Ability to master plant names.
Fit (able to lift a 60 litre bag of compost).
